We enable life changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential in girls, non-binary, transgender and gender-diverse youth.

BECOME A MY VOICE, MY POWER! MENTOR

Become a mentor

My Voice, My Power! is a group mentorship program that supports self-identified girls and gender diverse youth to develop skills that support gender-based violence prevention. This pilot project will be provided for participants in Grade 4 and 5 in various Metro Vancouver schools in Fall 2024 and expand to include grades 6-8 in 2025.

Being a My Voice, My Power! mentor, you will get the opportunity to:

  • Connect with self-identified girls and gender-diverse youth to help build communities that are supportive, inclusive and safe
  • Support participants to explore their identities, rights, and boundaries
  • Ignite the power and potential of youth teaching young people to advocate for themselves and others
  • Encourage youth to feel confident and hopeful about their future
  • Improve your leadership, group facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills in a school environment
  • Become part of the Big Sisters’ My Voice, My Power! community

“Many people in Canada continue to experience violence every day because of their sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, or perceived gender.”
